A Brief History of Independence Moving

We established the timeline telling the story of Independence Moving and put our first frame in 2005 as the year Thomas O’Connor made it happen. Seeing quality moving services as a problem, he saw an opportunity. He had one truck and five employees, but he wanted to change the moving industry forever. While being personally involved in every project, he put special effort into establishing the company culture and soon earned Independence Moving positive distinguishing characteristics within the moving field: professionalism and reliability.

2012: Expanding Reach

The year 2012 was better for Independence Moving than the provider we had discussed earlier in this text. At that point, Independence Moving had a fleet of 8 trucks and 12 employees. Eight locomotives and lots of additional soldiers allowed the company to perform large commercial relocations, justifying expanding some of its locations to several Western states. This time marked a shift—Independence Moving gained a reputation as a credible business within the relocation industry.

2016: Development Phase of Expansion

In 2016, Independence Moving made yet another bold move forward. As the company had 20 trucks, 25 workers, and 18 containers, it was able to undertake large moving activities. New technology made it possible to accompany the order and the driver with GPS systems in real time. As this phase progressed, there was an increasing demand for new services, including the transportation of jewelry, custom-made furniture, and office relocations.

2021: Responding to Global and Economic Challenges

By 2021, Independence Moving met the challenges of the global pandemic and continued growing. With a staff of 30 employees, 35 trucks, and 40 containers, Independence Moving introduced contactless services and increased safety measures to protect clients and staff. Despite the odds, Independence Moving remained resolute in its commitment to customer care, proving itself as a leading player in the U.S. moving industry.

Present Time

Today, under the leadership of Thomas O’Connor, Independence Moving remains a family business, even after years of expansion.
