At Independence Moving, we strive to provide reliable and transparent service for every client. Moving is a complex process that can be influenced by various circumstances. Our goal is to inform clients in advance about potential risks and always find solutions to ensure your experience remains positive.

Factors Affecting Moving Time

The duration of your move depends on several key factors:

• Volume and complexity of cargo — the presence of heavy furniture, pianos, or specialized equipment increases work time.
• Distance and route — interstate moves require more time due to road conditions, weather, and mandatory driver rest stops per federal regulations.
• Location accessibility — narrow streets, lack of parking, stairs without elevators, or distance from main roads can slow the process.
• Seasonal factors — peak season (May–September) and adverse weather conditions may affect timing.
• Administrative procedures — document processing and special route requirements.

Pricing Estimate Policy

We provide honest and transparent estimates based on information received from the client and/or property inspection. The estimate includes:

• Inventory of items for transport
• Route and loading/unloading conditions assessment
• Additional services (packing, furniture assembly/disassembly)
• Cargo insurance and liability protection

Important: Final cost may be adjusted if actual cargo volume or moving conditions differ from those initially specified.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be flexible:

• Cancellation well in advance — full refund of the deposit, minus minimal administrative costs.
• Cancellation closer to the moving date — partial refund of the deposit to cover allocated resources.
• Cancellation at very short notice — the deposit is non-refundable due to incurred expenses.
• Force majeure circumstances are considered individually.

Liability and Loss Coverage

We handle client belongings carefully and accept responsibility in accordance with federal requirements:

• Standard protection — basic coverage included in the moving service.
• Full value protection — available for an additional fee, provides repair, replacement, or full compensation.

Liability exclusions:

• Client self-packed items
• Natural wear during long-distance moves
• Damage due to extreme weather conditions
• Prohibited transport items (flammable, hazardous substances)

Additional Risks and Client Protection

• Possible delivery delays due to road conditions or driver working time restrictions.
• Third-party property damage is covered by our liability insurance.
• We offer cargo insurance to minimize client risks.
